BACTEX Mupirocin Ointment 5 g is a topical antibacterial medicine containing Mupirocin 2% w/w, formulated to treat certain bacterial skin infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. Mupirocin works locally on the skin by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, helping control bacterial growth and support the healing of infected skin.

It may be prescribed for primary and secondary bacterial skin infections, including infections caused by susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus and other susceptible bacteria.
